Introduction
My name is Jackson Belcher. I am the VP and co-owner of Crave Nutrition. We are a food service management company that partners with private schools, charter schools, and preschools across Texas to manage their food service program.
The Challenge Before Superhuman Prospecting
Prior to partnering with Superhuman Prospecting, we had a challenge. Our industry is very cyclical. There are bigger contracts that are a little bit sticky, so it takes some time to build relationships and bring those contracts to close. I was the only salesperson because a couple months out of the year is all you needed to bring in our max amount of clients, which was 10 to 15 a year. So the problem was I’m running the business for 100 employees and managing all aspects of the business while also having to get on the phone, call prospects, set up meetings, and Superhuman Prospecting made that process easier for me. They had a team that was skilled and called the prospects to at least set up meetings for me so that I’m just doing meetings instead of spending a lot of time on the phone.
Goals and Early Results
For Superhuman Prospecting, one of my main goals was just to see if I could set up a couple meetings a week, nothing major. And then the goal was to get at least one client from it because our contracts are pretty high-ticket, high-value contracts. So one client would pay for their service, and we got numerous calls and numerous appointments set up through Superhuman Prospecting. So I would say we achieved those goals.
Services Provided by Superhuman Prospecting
Superhuman Prospecting provided us their script writing service. They also helped us build a list of prospects of schools across Texas that they would then call and set up appointments on. So one of the big value-adds there was there were schools that they brought to the table I didn’t even know existed and got to set up appointments, and now they’re in our pipeline for us to reach out to in the future. So Superhuman Prospecting, their ability to write the scripts for me, build the lead list, and call the prospects multiple times to set these appointments for me, it solved my major problem, which was my lack of time. It allowed me to focus on running the business and only set the appointments and talk to interested clients rather than spending a lot of time on the phone.
Primary Benefits and Results
The primary benefits, achievements, and results that SHP has brought to us through our partnership is we now have a much larger warm pipeline of school prospects that we’re going to continue to reach out to and potentially bring on next school year that I didn’t have to spend a lot of time prospecting myself.
Recommendation and Overall Experience
I would recommend SHP because their team is amazing, very friendly, very responsive. They worked really hard to get my script writing right where it felt like I was the one calling these prospects, and then they iterated it over time to make it better based on the conversations they had with the prospects. I think their work, their diligence, and their success with meeting setting would allow me to recommend them for future companies.
Curveballs During Implementation
I would say one of the curveballs that we experienced when implementing SHP was they needed to learn about our business, and I did not have any scripts for my sales process. So I actually had to think through, when I’m cold calling these clients, how I communicate, how do I tell them about our product, our service, and what makes our company different, which took some time. But luckily they were very good at giving me prompting questions and tools to be able to get that script out of me so that their team could then emulate what I was doing naturally.
Favorite Feature of SHP
If I had to choose one favorite feature of SHP’s offering, I would say their hands-on project manager approach. I worked with a lady, her name’s Mary. She was very responsive, texted me, called me, like it felt like she was a member of our team. And I think that was something that you don’t get at most companies, where the prospecting that SHP did felt like an extension of your current business and your current culture.
What Exceeded Expectations
So what made us the happiest or exceeded our expectations when partnering with SHP was just the amount of meetings and prospects that they were able to bring in for us. I’m excited for next sales season and see how many of these school partners we’re able to bring on because I’ll have to do maybe a lot less prospecting next year because of the work that they’ve done for me.
Advice for Other Companies
The biggest guidance or advice I would give for any companies using SHP, I would definitely do your due diligence, maybe record some phone calls of you and your team prospecting, and iron out what you’re saying and how you’re communicating your service and information about your company prior to your first meeting. At that first meeting, they can move a lot faster, and that means they can start doing a lot more prospecting and calls for you sooner.
